| Poker Strategy |
 |
Internet poker strategy is a very
diverse and in-depth subject. There are many factors to consider
when explaining the different strategies that exist. The type of
poker game, limits, buyins, and more should be considered. As a
result, we chose to simply provide a strategy guideline. If you
apply them to your game no matter what type of poker you play, you
will most often have a competitive advantage as most players don’t
adhere to these basic poker strategies.
Choosing The Right Game
With the different poker games that exist online and their
variations, you can select a game that best suits your style /
personality. Deciding whether to play no-limit, pot limit, or limit
is a crucial choice. In general beginners should start out playing
limit, the swings in your bankroll are minimized and you can survive
potential bad plays you might make. More experienced players should
gradually move to pot limit and no limit variations of poker.
Deciding whether to play Texas Holdem , Omaha, and / or Seven Card
Stud is equally an important decision. It’s suggested that you start
with Texas Holdem as it is the easiest to play and less strategizing
to do. Increasing in difficulty would be Seven card Stud and finally
Omaha.
Play Within Your Limits
Bankroll management, the single most important factor in successful
Internet poker. You want to always play within your means. Yes, to
most of us $1 / $2 games is peanuts, but given your bankroll, this
in fact make be a significant amount. The suggested games to play is
roughly 1/150 – 1/250 times your bankroll as the big blind, meaning
if you have $100 in your account, you should only be playing at $.25
- $.50 tables. |
